Captions 2: Theodora's Accident
Shanna Compton

1. Theodora F. Luffington, daughter of Señor Pancho Riveria and Madame LeVoy Exces, at the age of thirteen with her oldest half-brother Micheaux Libby and his wife Sarah Treadlightly. This photograph was taken in front of the main house of the family estate three months before the accident.

2. Wherever she went, Theodora drew a crowd of people.

3. (Figure 167) Objects excavated from the grounds around the main house in 1987, three years after the accident. By dating these objects, researchers hope to prove the popular, yet largely speculative "Inkwell Theory" developed by Martin Van Wobelot in 1985.

4. (Figure 1178) A facsimile reproduction of a 1984 letter from Theodora to "Mousey." The identity of Mousey has never been satisfactorily determined.
